Q:

Geoff, you’re a long-time competitor and recent double race winner with the Fun Cup series. How are you enjoying it so far?

A:

I think the last two wins are just like, 5 years of work has come together for us. We’ve have numerous second places, but we’ve tried so hard and always been there but not quite the winners and the last time out at Croft we were on the pace. A few things were going wrong, but everything seemed to fall into place for us and it was just a fantastic result. We’re over the moon about it.

Q:

Previous to this you have done a lot of sprint racing, but the Fun Cup is an endurance series with driver changes and fuel. How does that compare?

A:

Well, when we did the sprint racing we did Formula Ford, that’s Neil Plimmer and myself, we found that we were away for 14 weekends out of year and having 15 minute races, and it was involving a lot of time away from home for very little seat time, so we decided to do the endurance racing and it’s been the best thing that we have ever done. We get loads of time in the seat, really close racing, all the cars are the same competitiveness, and it’s real real close close racing. Nothing’s bad, it’s like a sprint and a 5 hour race, and that’s the excitement of it.

Q:

Would you recommend the Fun Cup to other competitors?

A:

I’ve recommended it to anybody that races. I’ve brought two people into it since I’ve been racing, some new competitors that are racing today have just joined and they think it’s fantastic, the whole aspect of it. This year the new hospitality and the way that the series has been levelled is just excellent. As a whole package it’s excellent, and it involves everyone, all the team, all the drivers, and it’s just real fun from the start of the weekend to when you go home.
